At the Udaipur Jubilee 2023, I presented 'Embracing AI and Automation - Challenges in Underground Mining.' I discussed how the infrastructure of an underground mine is highly dynamic. Each explosion and new level connection can alter environmental and operational conditions, presenting significant challenges for both AI and automation. I also addressed the complexities of collecting and managing real-time data in underground mines, mainly due to limited or lost connectivity because of changes in operating conditions, especially in development and production.
